Studio

The task of the studio "Experimental Design - Parafiction and Collage" deals with collage as a design methodology and its transfer to the present day. With the help of digital tools, the classical two-dimensional collage is to be translated into the third dimension.
The starting point will be an iconographic modernist building from the Wuppertal region. From its geometric reconstruction, as well as ideological and historical analysis, a post-functional fragment or organising principle is to be derived that alienates the existing building in the strongest and most meaningful way. This kind of alienation of the familiar is intended to represent a new, fictitious reality that can be examined and experienced with the help of virtual reality.

Civil Engineering

Environmentally compatible infrastructure planning, urban development (Prof Huber)

A three-dimensional urban development model is used to analyse plot sizes and spacing. The use of virtual reality is intended to give students a feeling for the size of the building mass in relation to the plot. The co-op scenario enables several students to work together in one model. It is possible to hide different layers or rotate, scale and move buildings with a button.
